The symbol, a five-pointed star created by five interlocking
W's representing Dr. Weddington's last initial, characterizes the
multifaceted aspects of leadership required in today's fast-paced
society. A star can roll on its points to be in a different position
but still retain its basic shape. As such, the star is symbolic
of the flexibility necessary for successful leadership.
