Sarah Weddington's
current activities revolve around speaking, teaching, and writing.
She speaks frequently
on issues relating to leadership, self-renewal for leaders, women
and leadership, and women's issues (including the choice issue).
Her speaking venues range from annual national conventions to
colleges and universities.
Dr. Weddington continues
to teach at The University of Texas - Austin.
She teaches two classes, "Gender-Based Discrimination"
and "Leadership in America". The first is open primarily
to senior students who are particularly
interested in women's issues or attending law school, and who have attained a 3.5 or above GPA. The text
is a law school casebook, and each student is required to perform
research at the UT law school library. The second is a class open
to senior students who have been leaders in campus or off-campus
groups. The class is based on the premise that students who have
demonstrated volunteer leadership prior to their senior year are
those most likely to be involved in public, issue-oriented, and
political leadership after their graduation. Students in the class
read leadership literature and also interact with adult leaders
in a variety of fields.
Time
Magazine celebrated its 80th anniversary in March of 2003. In the Special
Edition it highlighted 80 days that changed the world, and picked the
day Roe v. Wade
was decided as one of those days. Here is a link to the article Dr. Weddington wrote for Time Magazine:

Dr. Weddington continues to be a very popular speaker and is starting a second book that will spotlight leadership and techniques of self-renewal.
